Deux vautours sur la plage de Baccocho
Design, Print & Binding
Johanne Jarry is a literary researcher and author of a dozen texts, including a triptych published by Éditions Les Petites Carnets (Printemps du Louvre, Paisajes and Le Storie). She developed an interdisciplinary writing practice with the visual arts and performing arts.
In Deux Vautours sur la plage de Baccocho, Johanne Jarry draws on a nostalgic journey in Mexico. We collaborated on this text from the beginning to help establish a soft and colourful feel. Each of the 50 copies is unique as I worked with an extremely fine paper and experimented with acetone printing. With this delicate process, the photography turned into a broken memory leaving an abstract black and white graphic. I used a Japanese binding technique to hide part of the text inside the page, so you can only read it in transparency.
